Rooms was very simple and clean, bed was comfortable. Food was good. Good value, especially for being in the middle of nowhere.

Do not stay here!! I hit a deer in my car 5 minutes south of this place. My fiancé called this lodge to see if they had rooms as I was pregnant and just totalled my car. It was 8:30 pm and some construction guys rescued me and were able to drive me and my destroyed car to here. After successfully getting someone at the residence to answer the door, we were greeted with "my husband is still at the restaurant go knock at the back door. And do any of you guys have a cigarette?" We replied No. we were all shocked at the lack of concern that I had just hit a deer and was stranded. We walked over to the restaurant and knocked on the door, as we were certain they would help us because my fiancé had called ahead and explained my situation. The guy inside straight up ignored our knocking and couldn't be bothered to help out a pregnant woman who had just crashed her car. The guys took me back to the Buffalo inn in pink mountain where they were staying and those people were amazing! They were not only open 24/7 but they gave me a room for 2 nights for free!! I highly recommend people take the extra 20 minute drive south of this crummy lodge and stay at the Buffalo inn! There restaurant and hotel stay open 24/7 and they are amazing, kind people. To the people who own bucking horse, I don't know what kind of human beings don't lend a hand to someone in need. I will tell every person I know how awful this place is!

The rooms were pretty gross. Even for the price. I was able to get used to the smell after a few hours, but I was the only one who could. They are also very small, and have had nothing done to them since I stayed there in 2001. We didn't bother to have a shower, after seeing the condition of it.

A lot of people get mad about the price, but it costs a lot of money to keep a big diesel generator running 24/7, plus getting supplies shipped up there isn't cheap.

In short, the rooms in the motel part are pretty bad, and the food is great. We didn't see what the other cabins were like, so I can't tell you not to stay there.

The guy offered us coffee with bkfst, then filled up 1 & 1/2 of our own mugs, then tried to charge us for three cups as we were leaving. I only paid for two, but he was not nice or welcoming. The French toast my friends bought looked mediocre and the eggs were over done. Will not be returning. Nice for a free stop though.

Great food. Burger and fries were obviously hand-made, not out of a package. Looks like a great place for hunters to use as a home base.

We didn't eat there this time, but have stopped often in the past, and the food is always really good. That's really the reason I give it the two
